What's Going On..

Since i've not posted in a while i thought i'd update you on whats been going on.. I got conditional offers for my two universities of choice, Huddersfield and UCLAN (Preston), now its just deciding which one to choose and make sure i get the grades to reach the offer.

Also i finally started my Final Major Project, I wanted to base mine on something i'm really interested in and something over the top that no one else would think to do. I came up with Prisons, but thought that might be a bit too small of a topic to cover so changed it to Victorian Crime. Ive been looking into Prisons, Capital Punishments, Gang Tattoos, Ripper Street and Jack the Ripper. All these areas have given me a good base of research to do all my deigns. I will post pictures of my sketchbook work, process of making and my final garment.

Charity Shop Hunting..

So this week I decided to look in some charity shop to try finding some bargains.. first shop I went into, Age Concern UK, I found a black floor length dress with gold sparkles for just £5.99.. then I went into British Heart Foundation, and got a gorgeous black velvet cardigan for £2.99 and in the final shop, Cancer Research UK, I got a beautiful purple velvet floor length dress for £10.00! overall I had a rather productive shopping trip and will definitely be doing it a lot more often!

Final Major Project..

For my Final Major Project I have decided to do Victorian Crime.. I have been looking through various different ideas as to what I could do. I really liked the uniforms and weapons that were in the Victorian era so I've looking at the black and white stripes on the uniforms and the knife and guns that were used.. I have looked at the prisons and different shapes ideas I could get from them.. I wanted to put a modern twist on it while still keeping to the crime area of it, so I've looked into gang tattoos to try and get some print from them. I'm really looking forward to this project and can't wait to get started on my dress!

Mum's Mad Friday..

My mum decided to go out mad Friday this Christmas as she has missed out for a few years. She had no idea what to wear as she wanted to be comfortable as well as looking good! I helped her pick this outfit out, with jewellery to match. Then we had to make sure her makeup looked well with the outfit, personally I think this outfit works well.. but now I'm always helping her choose clothes so she can look good all the time!
